In an institution like a bank, it is sometimes easy to forget about the team in the back – not customer-facing – and the roles they play to support the front-office team. While these individuals do not often interact with bank customers, they do provide a level of service and aid to those working the front lines that requires great communication and collaboration skills. This month we want to spotlight one of our back office team members referred to by her colleagues as an “invaluable resource”. We are proud to share that Vickie Moore, Assistant Bookkeeping Supervisor, has been selected as our April Star of the Month.
Vickie joined the Austin Bank team in 2008 as a teller in the Gladewater office before moving to the bookkeeping department in 2009. She has spent the last 14 years building her skills and knowledge earning a promotion to Assistant Supervisor for the department in July 2022. While taking on many new duties in addition to her regular day-to-day tasks, Vickie remains willing to assist others with questions or help in problem-solving. Lee Weisser, Staff Accountant, shares, “She assists the accounting department each day as we reconcile various accounts. Without Vickie as a resource, I am not sure we would be able to do our morning recons with nearly as much ease and accuracy.”
Vickie is a true team player, always willing to help whomever may ask. She takes pride in providing the highest level of service to her co-workers and is eager to continue learning and problem-solving. Nancy Harrison, Assistant Bookkeeping Supervisor, added, “I love working with Vickie and consider her a friend. She will tackle a challenge and excel at it. I have yet to see something she fails in.” Vickie is described as a hard worker and someone who loves to incorporate fun into the work place – possibly even interjecting an occasional prank.
Vickie and her husband, Bryan, have two grown children and two granddaughters. They are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their third in June. She is an avid dog lover, and has four dogs she considers part of the family as well. Vickie lives in Union Grove where she and Bryan are in the process of building a new home. She loves spending time with her family.
