March 2025 - Star of the Month - Elda Grogan

Supervisors are responsible for actively educating and developing the employees they manage. The nominations for this month’s Star praised her repeatedly for success in this role.  Many comments highlighted that she takes the time to break down information and train employees, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge to perform their tasks effectively. It is our pleasure to introduce you to our March Star, Elda Grogan, Teller Operations Supervisor in Big Sandy.

Elda joined the Austin Bank team in 2022 as a teller in the Big Sandy office.  Coming from a customer service background, she was able to translate those skills to her new position and quickly earned a promotion to her current role in 2023.  Elda loves to share her knowledge and create other leaders within our institution.  She has trained numerous new tellers and served as a mentor to other employees through the bank’s mentorship program.  Elda has the unique ability to take complex information and explain it in a clear, understandable way.  Once, during a particularly hectic day, a new teller was struggling with a long-time customer’s transaction.  Without hesitation, Elda stepped in, not just to help process the transaction, but to calmly walk the teller through it – building their confidence along the way.  Her leadership, patience, and ability to teach in the moment turned a stressful situation into a learning experience.

Another example of Elda’s efficiency and problem-solving skills occurred following a bank-wide training session.  After an update in procedures, Elda returned to the office and composed an email containing step-by-step instructions, including images to accompany each step and thorough notes, to ensure her employees could execute the task accurately.  Elda's actions have created a strong bond with her teammates, rooted in respect and trust. She is able to juggle multiple tasks seamlessly, and there is never concern that something will not be completed in the most efficient way possible when taken on by Elda.

A resident of Pritchett, between Gilmer and Big Sandy, Elda and her husband, Royce, have three cats – Marshmallow, Pebbles, and Missy.  Elda enjoys spending quality time with extended family and friends, and is very active in the CrossFit community, working out and participating in competitions.  She is a graduate of Big Sandy High School and Tyler Junior College.
