In an organization the size of our bank, it is sometimes easy to overlook the departments you may not work with on a daily basis, or understand the role they play in day-to-day operations. Such may be the case with this month’s Star. But, she has earned the respect and recognition of those around her for her Star qualities. It is for these reasons we are happy to announce that Ashley Twigg, HMDA Assistant, is our February Star of the Month.
The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), enacted by Congress in 1975, requires certain financial institutions to collect, report and disclose information about their mortgage lending activity. As Austin Bank falls under the jurisdiction of this act, the bank has a HMDA department ensuring our compliance with all regulations. Ashley came to work for the bank in 2018 as a HMDA Assistant. She brought with her previous experience working at a local title company along with several years of administrative skills. In her current role she is responsible for assisting in the coordination and preparation of information, reports and training regarding HMDA. Simply put, compiling and presenting lots of data.
Ashley has a reputation as having “rock star” Excel skills, and she is willing to share her knowledge. Debbie Braune, SVP/CRA Officer, shares that Ashley has lent her expertise in helping prepare required exam spreadsheets for their department and audits. She even went so far as to help the examiners when they had an issue in the software. Brenda Williams, SVP/Senior Compliance Officer, adds “Ashley is always ready to help where she can and has a positive energy that is contagious!”
Ashley and her husband, Tim, live in Bullard with two sons – Elijah and Michiah – and two dogs – Henley and Skyler. She enjoys reading and crafting like crocheting, making jewelry and being creative with her Cricut®. Ashley is a graduate of Schreiner University.
