Though this month’s Star is technically not in a customer service role, it was clear from her multiple nominations this is definitely an area in which she excels. Despite not interacting with bank customers daily, she takes great care in her interactions with coworkers to treat them with respect, help them solve problems and exceed their expectations. It is for this reason we are proud to announce that Danielle Merkley, Loan Operations Administrative Assistant, is our December Star of the Month.
Danielle joined the Austin Bank team in 2011 as a teller in our Longview Greggton office. She then worked as a customer service representative before moving to her current role in 2017. Danielle now serves as assistant to the department manager and mentors recently hired members of the department. Darla Shuffield, one of the bank’s newer Loan Assistants, shares “Danielle is a joy to work with. She has answered hundreds of questions for me as I moved into my new role. She is always positive with an upbeat attitude. She is full of knowledge and experience that she is eager to share.” Another employee shared that Danielle’s efforts are for the betterment of all in the bank – customers and employees alike. She exhibits great teamwork by being accessible and responsive to calls and emails; having a willingness to convey her knowledge to others so they may be successful; and doing it all with an encouraging attitude. Danielle extends the same amount of time, energy and care on each employee she interacts with and it does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
Danielle and her husband, Ramon, live in Longview with their 4-year old daughter, Noelle. She enjoys spending time with her family, shopping and cooking. The family attends St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Longview. A graduate of Gladewater High School, Danielle has just completed the Austin Bank Leadership program.
