Assisting in the maintenance and security needs for more than 36 locations is no small task, and is often one that goes unappreciated. When things run smoothly, no one stops to thank those that make it so. However, facility management is vital to business operations and adds value to the organization by helping to mitigate risk immediately while also addressing long-term needs. It is our pleasure to introduce you to John Rowe, Assistant Vice President and Security and Facilities Assistant Manager, as our October Star of the Month.
Despite all of the preventative work done by the Security and Facilities team, issues do sometimes arise unexpectedly. John is described as “always ready and willing to come to the rescue” when a need presents itself. He works diligently to see a project through to completion and sets an example for those around him with his positive attitude and professionalism. “John has the best combination of talent, skills, and attitude,” comments Julisa Trujillo, Assistant Vice President and Recruiter in Jacksonville. “His dedication and commitment to his job are commendable, especially when it comes to keeping employees safe.”
Joining the Austin Bank team in 2020, John brought with him more than 20 years of public safety and security management experience. He served with the Kilgore Police Department for 20 years before entering the private sector. A graduate of Kilgore High School, he also holds a degree in Criminal Justice from Kilgore College. Public service has long been a part of John’s life as demonstrated by the earning of the rank of Eagle Scout. John and his wife, Rachel, have one daughter, two sons, one grandson and one granddaughter. They are residents of Kilgore and attend First Christian Church. If John manages to find some free time, he enjoys riding four-wheelers, camping and playing dominoes.
“John is an incredible addition to the Austin Bank team. His commitment to his job and his personable nature make him a favorite among all bank employees. A great all around employee, I am grateful John chose to call Austin Bank home.”
John Ory, Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, Longview Greggton
“A valuable member of the Austin Bank team, John is very knowledgeable concerning all facets of his job – security issues, investigations and facility matters. He goes above and beyond, often working evenings or weekends, to address issues in our facilities.”
Keith Fletcher, Senior Vice President and Security and Facilities Manager, Longview Greggton
“John is always a great help in time of need – willing to go the extra mile to handle any situation or solve any problem we may have. He is a pleasure to work with, maintaining a great attitude and professionalism throughout all tasks.”
Pam Pate, Senior Vice President, Human Resources Team, Jacksonville
