Weekly Credit Reports available during Coronavirus Pandemic

Maebeth Cotton

During these times of COVID-19, accessing your credit is important. That's why Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion are now offering free weekly online reports through April 2021.

If you are feeling anxious about your financial health during these uncertain times, you are not alone.  That is why the three national credit reporting agencies are giving people weekly access to monitor their credit report - for free.

Through annualcreditreport.com you are usually only able to access your report from each credit bureau once per year for free.  These free reports do not include credit scores.  But, monitoring your credit reports regularly is an important part of being in control of your finances.

After you have requested and received your report, review them.  Make sure that you recognize the information on your reports including your personally identifiable information, such as names, addresses, Social Security Number, accounts and loans.  Then check that the other information on your report is accurate and complete.  If you find information that you believe does not belong to you or is not correct, contact the business that issued the account or the credit reporting company that issued the report.  You can also check the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's website for additional information on what to look for when reviewing your credit report.

Free reports are available through April 2021.
