Ambitious employees are willing to go the extra mile – whether it be to achieve company goals or make their way up the corporate ladder. They do not shirk from putting forth their best because they set goals and high expectations for themselves. And, they strongly desire to progress in their career. These characteristics describe this month’s Star perfectly, and reiterate why he was nominated by his peers to receive this award. We are proud to honor David Rodarte, Credit Analyst in Longview Oak Forest, as our September Star of the Month.
David joined the Austin Bank team in 2016 as a Teller at the Tyler Med Center location. His then supervisor, Margaret Mullinnix, shares, “When I hired David, I knew I would not have him for very long. From day one, David was respectful, professional, driven and curious. Anything you asked him to do, he always said yes. He quickly got to know his customers, called them by name and knew how to take care of their requests. I reluctantly had to let him leave so he could progress in the company.” After leaving his position as a Teller, David moved to the Central Loan Document department where he worked in the File Room and then in Uploads. There he learned additional skills to help in his job progression, and push him closer to his eventual goal of being a lender and leader in the Bank. Working in CLD for a little over a year, David then transferred to his position as a Credit Analyst in 2018.
In his current role, David represents the department in the Walk in My Shoes training program and trains new analysts. His supervisor describes him as a “natural trainer and leader” and shares that other analysts often seek his assistance on tasks. When the Bank began offering Small Business Administration PPP loans, David stepped up to take on management of the master list of loans as well as the new duties associated with the loans with a smile.
David and his fiancé, Mayra Martinez, live in Mt. Pleasant with their two small children – Caroline and Elijah. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and went on to earn degrees from North East Texas Community College and the University of Texas at Tyler. David was the first in his family to graduate from college. He has a large family and enjoys spending time with them, cooking, and playing with his children.
“David is an outstanding young man. He is always willing to help with anything asked of him and always does his best. He has a great attitude and I can count on him for anything. He is dedicated to Austin Bank and wants to learn more about every aspect of it.”
Kim Raney, SVP/Credit Analyst Department Manager, Longview Oak Forest
“Anyone who knows David will tell you he has a smile and a laugh that will brighten your day. He is very deserving of this recognition for his hard work and commitment to grow and succeed. I am very proud of David and lucky enough to be able to call him a friend.”
Margaret Mullinnix, SVP/Retail Market Manager, Tyler Downtown
“David is a quick study and willing to learn every aspect of the Bank that will help him reach his goal of being a lender. He has pride in never making a mistake twice and always has a positive attitude.”
