An article written by Dan Cable in the Harvard Business Review said, “When you are a leader – no matter how long you have been in your role or how hard the journey was to get there – you are merely overheard unless you are bringing out the best in your employees.” His take on humble leadership is a perfect representation of our July Star. Nominated for his work ethic, positive attitude, loyalty and leadership, we are proud to announce that Brett Carre, Telephone Customer Service Representative Supervisor from Longview Greggton, is our July Star of the Month.
Brett joined the Austin Bank team in 2012 as a Telephone Customer Service Representative in the Customer Care Center having previously worked for six years in customer service for a local country club. When the operating hours for the department were extended in 2017, Brett was promoted to Night Supervisor. Promoted again in 2018, he served as Assistant Manager for the department and moved to his current role as Supervisor in 2019. Now overseeing a staff of 23 that handle approximately 42,000 calls per month, Brett’s leadership inspires teamwork and focuses each member on the goals of the company. “Brett’s ability to internalize the customers’ perspective and convey his expectations to his staff in delivering exceptional customer service makes him perfect for his job,” shares John Ory, SEVP/Chief Operations Officer. “Above all, Brett’s work ethic and exemplary performance comes from his passion about Austin Bank and his pride in leading the Customer Care Center staff to deliver the best possible service to the Austin Bank customers.” His teammates share that Brett is always willing to help, and is a great person to talk things through or bounce ideas off.
Brett is a long-time Longview resident. He graduated from Pine Tree High School and went on to earn a degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. He is a lover of all forms of sports, but is most passionate about golf, which he plays. Brett enjoys watching the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He has collected sports memorabilia since he was a child and has a very large collection . . . some of which is quite rare.
“Brett is doing a fantastic job as Telephone Customer Service Supervisor. He is always willing to help the customers and has an outstanding attitude in his role as manager. We are fortunate to have Brett on our team.”
Trudy Harris, VP/Deposit Operations Manager, Longview Greggton
“I have been overwhelmingly satisfied with Brett’s performance since he stepped into the role of managing the Customer Care Center. Brett has the experience, knowledge and inquisitive mind necessary to always find the right answers for his staff and the Bank customers.”
John Ory, SEVP/Chief Operations Officer, Longview Greggton
“Brett is very knowledgable regarding Austin Bank procedures and policies. He is always there to help with any questions or concerns from his Customer Care Center staff and also from all of the offices.”
